Head of ITD Data Management Center of Expertise - Data & Analytics
Mission:
- The ITD Data Management Center of Expertise Lead is part of the Data & Analytics Leadership team and is responsible for enabling countries, global business units, and global functions to establish effective data management and governance capabilities.
- Will define and execute a strategy to ensure consistent adoption of data management frameworks, processes, and globally provided tools.
- Will serve as the central point of expertise, ensuring alignment with global standards while enabling local execution to drive value creation and operational excellence.
Accountabilities:
- Define a comprehensive vision and strategy for Data Management and Governance, aligned with broader Data & Analytics, ITD and business strategies.
- Act as a central hub to support countries, global business units, and global functions in equipping themselves with data management and governance capabilities.
- Establish and maintain frameworks, processes, and tools for data management, including data quality, metadata management, and data governance.
- Support the alignment of global and local data management initiatives, ensuring consistency and adherence to strategic principles.
- Provide expertise to drive data literacy and embed data governance principles across the organization.
- Ensure the implementation of scalable, automated, and self-service models for data management and governance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to monitor and improve data quality, reduce duplication, and enhance data usability.
- Define and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness and maturity of data management practices.
- Enable effective change management to support the adoption of data management tools, frameworks, and practices at all organizational levels.
- Partner with ITD teams to ensure seamless integration of data management tools and processes into the broader IT landscape.
- Develop and communicate the vision for the Data Management Center of Expertise, setting long-term goals and strategic priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor to local and global teams, providing guidance on data management staffing, frameworks, and best practices.
- Oversee the deployment and adoption of globally provided data management tools across all regions and business units.
- Define governance structures to ensure alignment between data management initiatives and business goals.
- Collaborate with ITD and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving data quality, governance, and accessibility.
- Develop and maintain a unified data catalog and metadata management system to enable consistent data discovery and usage.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and standards, including security, privacy, and responsible AI guidelines.
- Organize and lead training sessions and workshops to build data management expertise and awareness within the organization.
- Monitor the performance of data management initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
- Act as a liaison between global and local teams to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure alignment of data management practices.
- Engage with external vendors and partners to assess and integrate best-in-class data management solutions.
- At least 10 cumulative years of experience in Data Management, Governance, or related domains, including hands-on experience in implementing frameworks and tools.
- Demonstrated experience in managing global or regional data management initiatives within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience advising senior leaders and enabling cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and metadata management practices.
- Strong track record of working with distributed teams and managing change in diverse cultural environments.
Education:
- Master’s degree with a focus on Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
- Certification in the Data Management space is a plus.
