Sr Data Science Engineering Manager

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deliver robust, scalable, and high-quality technical solutions for Pontoon Intelligence.
• Lead end-to-end implementation for new Pontoon Intelligence clients, ensuring smooth onboarding and rapid value realization.
• Develop, validate, and deploy advanced data science models and analytics to support measurable business outcomes.
• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of developers and data scientists.
• Maintain technical enablement artefacts: documentation, demo environments, and support guides.
• Foster strong collaboration with business, delivery, and technology teams.
• Proactively manage risks related to data privacy, security, and system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with business strategy, delivery, and technology stakeholders for requirements gathering and roadmap alignment.
• Ensure seamless integration with client and internal systems, including data contracts and APIs.
• Equip internal and client teams with the tools and knowledge to use Pontoon Intelligence effectively

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Proven experience in technical delivery and data science leadership, preferably within workforce 
solutions or HR tech.
• Strong understanding of technical architecture, engineering delivery, and data science model 
development.
• Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring technical teams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Deep expertise in technical architecture, engineering delivery, and backlog management for data-driven platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in data science model development, validation, and deployment, including 
analytics for measurable business outcomes.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to build and manage high-performing 
technical teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration abilities, working effectively across business, delivery, and technology functions.
• Demonstrated experience in integrating complex systems, including data ingestion, APIs, and client/internal platforms.
• Robust understanding of data privacy, security, and system reliability best practices, with proactive risk management.
• Skilled in technical documentation, demo environment setup, and creation of support guides and operational playbooks.
• Effective communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and drive alignment between business vision and technical execution.
• Expertise in data integration, model validation, and operational playbooks.
• Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organisation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $160,000. Salary may be determined based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. This position participates in Pontoon’s incentive program which also includes bonus eligibility.

Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Available paid leave includes Personal Time Off (PTO) on an accrual basis up to 152 hours a year, 10 Paid Holidays, 1 Community Service Day, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
