Strategic Transformation Director - AI Solutions

United Kingdom

Apply for Role
Job ID NE03898 Primary Location United Kingdom Business Unit Pontoon Department Information Technology IT Work ModeRemote
About the role

The Strategic Transformation Director, AI Solutions is responsible for setting and safeguarding the strategic direction of the organization’s market-facing AI and automation products, ensuring that the work delivered across the program remains aligned with the overall product vision, the target design, and the intended integration into client service delivery.

This role reports directly to the Vice President, Products & Innovation and acts as the senior strategic and subject-matter leader for the transformation of the organization’s client-facing AI product portfolio. The role defines what the product proposition needs to achieve, how the different capabilities should work together, and how individual workstreams contribute to the overall vision, enabling the Vice President, Products &
Innovation to focus on executive-level decisions and priorities.

The role ensures that product strategy, AI and automation expertise, commercial and go-to-market readiness, and delivery execution come together as one coherent effort. This is a cross-functional leadership role rather than the owner of a single workstream, and it works in close partnership with a Program Lead who owns day-to-day delivery planning, coordination, and execution.

The Strategic Transformation Director partners closely with product management, delivery leadership, commercial and operations teams, and business stakeholders to translate the product vision into practical, scalable, and commercially valuable outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

• Define and safeguard the strategic direction of the organization’s market-facing AI and automation product transformation, ensuring that all delivery remains aligned to the overall product vision and target design.
• Act as the principal subject-matter expert on AI and automation product design, advising leadership on what the product proposition must achieve and how the different capabilities should work together.
• Determine how individual workstreams contribute to the overall vision, and judge whether the program is building the right capabilities to succeed in the market.
• Identify when technology, product, commercial, or client developments require a change in direction, and clearly articulate the required change to leadership and delivery teams.
• Partner with the Program Lead to translate strategic direction into a coordinated delivery plan, ensuring that identified changes are incorporated and executed without disrupting delivery momentum.
• Maintain coherence across the transformation by connecting product strategy, AI and automation expertise, go-to-market readiness, and delivery, so that separate workstreams do not become siloed.
• Partner with product management to ensure that individual product decisions remain connected to the broader transformation vision and coordinated with the outputs of other workstreams.
• Ensure the AI and automation product portfolio is designed around real client needs, practical adoption, and measurable commercial value
• Establish the governance model and clear ownership boundaries early, so that accountability across the leadership group and workstreams is well understood.
• Act as a trusted strategic partner to Products & Innovation leadership, surfacing the decisions that require executive authority and providing clear recommendations on priorities, trade-offs, risks, and dependencies.
• Support the movement of market-facing propositions from concept and early proof points through to demonstrable, scalable client value.
• Collaborate with commercial, operations, legal, compliance, and external partners to ensure that solutions can scale responsibly across the business and the market.
• Provide transparency on strategic progress, risks, and direction through clear and timely communication to senior stakeholders and executive forums.
• Stay informed about emerging AI, automation, and product trends, and assess how these capabilities can create practical value for the organization and its clients.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
