Bid Manager
City of Taguig, Philippines Apply for RoleThe Bid Manager leads the Global Bid Management Team in achieving goals and objectives through mentoring, resource & capacity management, facilitating bid project management, and promoting team cohesion by encouraging a strong, values-based working team atmosphere.
They will work with relevant subject matter experts across the organization to write a compelling bid. The role will include the development of value proposition, strategy development, win themes and storyboarding. This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. This role will be fully conversant with the competitive marketplace in recruitment. It will require strong people management and commercial skills, as well as excellent writing skills. The Bid Manager is positioned to manage the most complex bid processes within the team and lead pursuits actively with the sales leadership, taking a consultative and active leadership role.
What you’ll be doing- Accomplishes department objectives by managing, planning, and evaluating staff activities.
- Management of staff includes, but is not limited to, activities such as interviewing and selection of employees, department/team engagement and development.
- Responsible for creating an equitable work environment when setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing the work of employees; appraising employees’ productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.
- Creates, develops, and arranges detailed sales proposals for sales teams. Applies winning proposal concepts, practices, and procedures along with solid writing methodologies to incorporate information into the assigned proposal.
- Manages senior relationships with Pontoon’s pursuit team members, leading and consulting with them throughout the entire bid process to ensure the strongest response to market.
- Analyzes proposal requests and client’s objectives to determine proposal feasibility and communicates company’s service capabilities, competencies, and solutions.
- Leads and manages in all aspects of the RFP proposal process as it relates to the research, designing, writing, editing, preparation and generation and submission of sales proposal and presentation documents.
- Ensures that responses are timely, customized to meet client business objectives, technically accurate and in compliance with all internal and external regulations.
- Reviews and responds to Requests for Information, Proposals and Quotes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and similar sales opportunities working under tight deadlines with consideration towards internal and external compliance.
- Acts as a catalyst within the wider bid team and sales operations team to evoke change and consistently think proactively and deliver value and impact to the work being done across the team.
- Utilizes existing content, writes new content as required and manages online content library to generate winning proposals and presentations for existing clients as well as prospects.
- Builds strong relationships with Pontoon’s SMEs and corporate departments. Acts as liaison with corporate contacts in gathering, analyzing, and ensuring data integrity.
- Leads virtual pursuit teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery.
- Owns the proposal content, both in terms of content and presentation (such as writing an executive summary).
- Define and continuously improve bid process optimization including:
- Standard Operating Procedures
- Internal Pontoon Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
- Maintain and drives collaboration and know-how with other TAG brands including and developing a COE/knowledge sharing.
- Own, maintain, update, and grow bid library.
- Maintain proactive collaboration with Internal Pontoon SMEs to develop new content and data
- Own internal Bid Analytics and statistics, specifically driven from the SFDC Bid Management dashboard and including ROI data.
- Management of company sourcing/procurement profiles including but not limited to Ariba and Coupa
- Bid pipeline/capacity management and bid project distribution across bid team.
- Responsible for the performance management, including training and development of the global team of bid writers.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years’ experiences in business writing.
- Recruitment/Recruitment Outsourcing experience preferred but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, challenges and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to manage complex, multi-workstream opportunities.
- Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management, including the CEO/Director level, and internal and external customers.
- Excellent business writing experience.
- Prior recruitment experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work with various internet-based procurement tools, proficient in the use of Windows PC equipment and software, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
