About the role

SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Business Partner Manager (HRBP Manager) is the face of HR when interacting with employees and business leaders to provide strategic partnering through HR leadership service delivery. Uses HR expertise to drive company talent strategies.  Act as a liaison between the line and HR to ensure that HR services are aligned with internal client needs. 

What you’ll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and participates in performance calibrations with business managers to provide input on ratings, promotions, etc.; communicates performance management cycle-related information; provides training to managers on effective performance management. 
  • Leads annual merit process and off-cycle processes with the business groups s/he supports; may participate with Compensation in position/market studies to ensure equitable compensation for jobs. 
  • Facilitates training to ensure new and existing managers know and understand the organization's approach to people management and its many components (e.g. new hires, new managers, lunch & learns, team dynamics, etc.); may also create training in partnership with others to meet business needs. 
  • Handles escalations from HR Service Center and provides coaching and guidance to managers to help them address colleague issues reactively and proactively. 
  • Leads and participates in various HR-related projects. 
  • Partners with Talent Development to gather pre-work, analyzes information and co-facilitates talent review discussions with another HR or Talent Partner. 
  • Assist business unit leaders in providing employees with development opportunities that align with current and future performance standards 
  • Implement appropriate employee training and manage its delivery. 
  • Review key business performance targets and their related talent implications with business leaders. 
  • Review and benchmark the internal and external environment to improve HR policies and initiatives. 
  • Identify and drive the sharing of best practices across functions to facilitate continuous improvement. 
  • Identify new opportunities for HR to add value to the business. 
  • Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices and key trends
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
About you

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s in Human Resources, Business Management or other related degree required. Master’s degree preferred. Five to seven years related human resources business partnering experience required. Prior experience or exposure in HR COE (employee relations, talent management, workforce planning and/or rewards preferred. Completed HR certification such as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS:

  • Broad knowledge of Human Resources principles, policy development and related laws and regulations required.
  • Solid business acumen and the ability to align HR activities with business objectives
  • Demonstrates a strong leadership presence to support a culture of ethics, coaching and inclusion
  • Experienced speaking in front of groups for facilitation of training and orientation virtually or in person at all levels within the organization to include senior leadership
  • Experience levering Change Management practices and tools
  • Solutions orientation and service mindset - delivering consistent, prompt, and courteous written and verbal communications in a professional manner
  • Respects confidentiality and able to navigate difficult and sensitive situations
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and is calm under pressure
  • Experience leveraging data in decision making and problem solving
  • Uses sound judgement and pulls upon past experiences to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues, that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law
  • Builds effective business relationships to collaborate, and influence team members and stakeholders to achieve goals
  • Master multi-tasker with effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a strong attention to detail
  • Technologically savvy; Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
