Senior Manager, Global Account-Based Marketing
Madrid, Spain
Berlin, Germany
Prague, Czechia
Work with the VP, ABM & Strategic Marketing to own the strategy and activation of high-value ABM programmes, working with sales to turn account priorities and growth opportunities into focused engagement plans. The role will support the Premium Account portfolio while helping to build and prove the methodology, tools and operating model required to scale ABM across Business Lines and priority countries.
This is a senior strategic role. It combines direct ownership of complex account programmes with responsibility for strengthening ABM capability across the organisation. Success depends on strong commercial judgement, credible partnership with sales and the ability to connect insight, proposition, content and activation around the opportunities that matter most.
What the role is accountable for:
- Creating clear, commercially grounded ABM strategies for priority accounts and growth programmes.
- Building strong partnerships with account leaders, sales teams and senior stakeholders.
- Turning client change, account intelligence and business priorities into focused engagement plans.
- Leading strategic activation across the customer journey, supported by specialist campaign and digital resources.
- Demonstrating ABM impact through meaningful engagement, opportunity progression, relationship growth and commercial outcomes.
1. Account strategy and commercial alignment
- Lead account discovery with sales to understand the client context, growth ambition, priority opportunities, buying’ groups and barriers to progress.
- Develop end-to-end ABM strategies that connect account objectives to a clear marketing response.
- Identify where The Adecco Group can add distinctive value and translate this into relevant account propositions, messages and engagement themes.
- Prioritise activity against the opportunities and relationships with the greatest commercial potential.
- Maintain clear engagement plans, decision points and agreed measures of success.
2. Sales and stakeholder partnership
- Act as a strategic partner to Global Account Vice Presidents, account directors and sales leaders.
- Create shared ownership between sales and marketing, with clear roles before, during and after activation.
- Equip sales teams with the insight, content and engagement signals needed to progress conversations and opportunities.
- Challenge assumptions constructively and keep programmes focused on the client and commercial outcome, rather than marketing activity.
- Build alignment across Global Marketing and sales, Business Lines, countries, Digital, Customer Experience and other teams.
3. Strategic activation and executive engagement
- Turn the account strategy into a coherent engagement plan across priority audiences, channels and moments that matter.
- Lead the development of account-specific value propositions, messaging, executive content and sales enablement.
- Brief and guide the ABM Campaign Manager, digital teams, agencies, writers and subject-matter experts on execution.
- Ensure every activity has a clear role in the customer journey and supports a defined relationship or opportunity objective.
- Use executive engagement, events, thought leadership, paid media, email and other channels selectively, based on the account need.
4. Measurement, learning and optimization
- Define success measures at the start of each programme using the 3Rs: reputation, relationships and revenue and engagement rate.
- Use account engagement, buying-group behaviour, sales feedback and opportunity movement to assess progress.
- Work with analytics, CRM and digital teams to build a clear view of performance and next actions.
- Turn evidence into practical decisions about where to continue, adapt, stop or increase investment.
- Capture learning and case studies that strengthen future programmes and wider ABM adoption.
5. Centre of Excellence and capability building
- Help build and maintain the ABM methodology, playbooks, templates, governance and measurement framework.
- Support Business Lines and countries to assess where ABM is appropriate and select the right model.
- Coach marketers and sales teams to apply ABM with rigour, rather than relying on the central team to deliver every activity.
- Contribute to training, communities of practice and development of reusable tools and examples.
6. Portfolio, budget and partner management
- Manage programme priorities, dependencies, risks and resources across multiple complex accounts or pilots.
- Own allocated budgets and make clear recommendations to VP, ABM and Strategic Marketing on investment based on account potential and programme maturity.
- Manage agency and partner contributions against a strong strategic brief, agreed deliverables and quality standards.
- Protect the quality and consistency of the ABM approach while adapting it to the realities of each account, market or Business Line.
- Significant B2B marketing experience, including at least 7 years leading ABM strategy for complex enterprise accounts or growth programmes.
- A clear understanding of 1:1, 1:Few and scalable ABM models, and the judgement to know when each is appropriate.
- Experience partnering with senior sales and account leaders to define priorities, shape plans and maintain shared accountability.
- Strong commercial judgement, with the ability to connect marketing decisions to relationship development, pipeline and revenue objectives.
- Experience turning account and market intelligence into propositions, messaging, content and engagement plans.
- Confidence working across a complex, matrixed global organization.
- Experience using CRM, account intelligence, intent, digital and measurement tools to inform decisions. Specific platform experience is helpful but not essential.
- Strong programme leadership, budget management and agency management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to make complex thinking clear and useful.
- A practical coaching mindset and an interest in building capability beyond the central team.
