About the role

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for leading a team accountable for performing, invoicing, recording, and reporting financial data, supplier payments, and performing reconciliation activities. Oversees the organization’s financial position balance sheet ensuring it is properly reconciled and present accurately. 
Ensures adherence to identified financial reporting deadlines, best practices, standard operating procedures, and identified Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

What you’ll be doing

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leads finance transformation initiative to improve visibility and awareness of non-recurring financial data, reduce closing timelines, reduce financial impact of balance sheet exposure, and establish a shared service accounting center responsible for transacting financial data with a focus on process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements.
• Provides detailed insight into the various drivers of DSO.
• Authorizes changes to procedures, operating systems and other financial control functions used to manage deliverables.
• Develops and manages the intra-company cost allocation model.
• Provides detailed analysis of global functional cost for all functions.
• Drives cost control initiatives.
• Utilizes financial management systems, databases and tools, including the development, analysis and distribution of a variety of customized financial reports.
• Recommends and assists with identifying, developing and deploying short- and long-term plans to improve the visibility around functional spend.
• Connects with Business Partners to ensure the complete and accurate presentation of the added value of the Functions.
• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare routine and non-routine entries to G/L accounts. 
• Coordinates monthly upload of journal entries into the Accounting Financial systems. 
• Reconciles and prepares accounting schedules on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. 
• Performs P&L research pursuant to specific accounts or other departmental inquiries.
• Coordinates with other departments for information and analyses required for proper accounting adjustments. 
• Owns process of requesting ad-hoc changes to client data and updating records accordingly. 
• Manages Internal (ICOFR) audit documentation and control updates.
• Directs internal audit response and fulfillment of documentation requests.
• Conducts timely annual and interim performance evaluations and sets individual and 
team objectives to cultivate a culture of high performance and teamwork.
• Ensures team maintains appropriate skills and competencies required to conduct operations timely, effectively and in compliance.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. 

About you

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field.
Minimum of seven (7) years of financial analysis experience. 
Experience in a public accounting environment is preferred. CPAs or CPA candidates are preferred.

• Highly accurate and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to change.
• Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of processes, develop improvements and/or recommend changes or alternatives.
• Ability to identify existing and new trends as well as evaluate and predict their impact on the organization.
• Knowledge of and the ability to understand and apply General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) 
and financial analysis principles and practices.
• Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures, as well as the ability to prepare and monitor budget information.
• Knowledge of and the ability to utilize automated financial systems and tools, such as Hyperion and Oracle Financials.
• Knowledge of accounting systems and practices.
• Ability to compile, review and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

The anticipated salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $135,000. Salary may be determined based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. This position participates in Pontoon’s incentive program which also includes bonus eligibility.

Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision, term life and AD&D insurance, short-term and long-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits, wellness plans, and a 401k plan or a non-qualified deferred compensation plan. Available paid leave includes Personal Time Off (PTO) on an accrual basis up to 152 hours a year, 10 Paid Holidays, 1 Community Service Day, and up to 6 weeks of Paid Parental Leave. PTO and holiday hours are prorated based on hire date within the calendar year.
