About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Lead with a background in IT procurement or buying to join our team supporting a strategic client account. This role will act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, guiding them through the end-to-end requisition and sourcing process for contingent labor and statement of work (SOW) engagements, with a particular focus on IT and professional services categories.

The Procurement Lead be responsible for managing key relationships with client end users, vendors, and internal teams to ensure delivery excellence, cost efficiency, and compliance across workforce procurement activities. This is a client-facing role requiring strong commercial acumen, category knowledge, and the ability to influence procurement outcomes that align with strategic goals.

What you’ll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of workforce procurement activities across IT and other key categories (e.g., consulting), ensuring consistent delivery and compliance with program guidelines.

  • Partner closely with client end users to assess requisition needs and recommend sourcing strategies that are competitive, compliant, and cost-effective.

  • Serve as a procurement subject matter expert, particularly within IT labor categories, providing guidance on job classification, rate benchmarks, and supplier engagement strategies.

  • Manage all requisition activity using VMS technology (e.g., Fieldglass, Beeline, etc.) and ensure timely and quality submissions from suppliers.

  • Utilize recruiting knowledge to evaluate candidate submissions, screen for quality, and help ensure best-fit talent is delivered to client stakeholders.

  • Support client financial goals through cost analysis, rate negotiation, and identifying potential cost savings opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and program leaders to deliver accurate, data-driven reporting and operational insights.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of contingent workforce trends, pricing models, and best practices in procurement and supplier management.

  • Support the full lifecycle of SOW procurement, including vendor negotiation, onboarding oversight, and performance tracking.

  • Deliver program training, updates, and communication to client stakeholders and suppliers on VMS usage and standard operating procedures.

About you

EDUCATION & JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Procurement or buying experience, with a strong preference for IT procurement or contingent labor sourcing.

  • Previous experience supporting Statement of Work (SOW) engagements and understanding of services procurement best practices.

  • Prior experience working within an MSP/VMS environment (e.g., Beeline, Fieldglass, Coupa, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of rate structures, bill rate components, employment classification, and cost modeling.

  • Proven ability to work in a client-facing role, building and maintaining strong relationships across business units.

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage, coach, and support a team toward performance goals.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data interpretation for reporting and performance tracking.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and operate with minimal supervision.

  • Ability and willingness to travel as required (estimated <10%).
